Veridium, a leader in biometrics-based authentication software, today announced that former Citrix Systems chief technology officer, John Spencer, will join Veridium's executive management team as the company's chief product officer. This announcement is the first executive hire under the leadership of newly appointed CEO James Stickland.

A seasoned IT executive with 30 years of experience in the software industry leading engineering teams, John's primary focus will be the development of Veridium's biometric authentication product offerings, as well as looking into the future and detailing the product roadmap.

In recent years, John served as chief technology officer for Citrix security products in Northern Europe. There, he led world-class engineering teams to drive early adoption of innovative technologies among enterprise customers and partners. John was the key interface between sales and product teams with a primary focus on understanding customer requirements and drivers in order to evolve product capability and decrease complexity.

"We are fortunate to have John join our executive team at a critical point as we build out our product roadmap and set the strategic direction for the company," said James Stickland, CEO of Veridium. "John has been instrumental in working with development teams to deliver commercially successful and award winning products, experiencing strong customer acceptance across multiple industries and we believe he will have continued success at Veridium."

Veridium is looking to eliminate the most vulnerable point of access management solutions - the password - by making biometrics a secure and convenient authentication solution for enterprises. This week at RSA, Veridium announced its newest solution, VeridiumAD: an enterprise-ready solution that adds biometric authentication and identity assurance to Microsoft Active Directory environments, allowing companies to eliminate traditional passwords for employees.

Veridium will be demoing VeridiumAD alongside other solutions and use cases - including its proprietary 4 Fingers TouchlessID biometric solution - onsite at RSA in the Marriott Early Stage Expo #ESE - 35.
