MDeC accelerating the Malaysian entrepreneurial ecosystem at the Global Entrepreneurship Summit

The Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC) leveraged the 4th Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES) to accelerate and drive the Malaysian entrepreneurial ecosystem. MDeC was involved in several events held in conjunction with the GES.

The events were as follows:

  1. MOSTI-MSC Malaysia InnoTech (9-10 October), in collaboration with the Malaysian Venture Capital & Private Equity Association (MVCA), was an investment pitching platform to match technology-based companies with potential local and regional equity funds for growth and market expansion. MDeC and MVCA also launched Deal Quest, an online platform to help start-ups and entrepreneurs seek funding, at this event.
  2. IBM ASEAN Smart Camp (10-11 October), which MDeC was partnering as part of IBM's Global Entrepreneur programme to uplift Malaysia's startup ecosystem and reach out to local startups through a series of mentoring sessions.
  3. MSC Malaysia Cloud Conference (11 October) was aimed at providing awareness to key decision makers and industry players on the new emerging cloud computing solutions that can take businesses and entrepreneurs to the next level.
  4. Policy Roundtable Discussion (12 October), which MDeC jointly hosted with the Kauffman Foundation and SME Corporation Malaysia, discussed challenges and explored some of the ideas being tested by policymakers in their economies with regards to regulatory reform, finance and entrepreneurship education.

Datuk Badlisham Ghazali, CEO of MDeC, said "Entrepreneurs are an incredibly powerful force for social change and for widening our economic prosperity.
