The initiative is called ‘AweSME Accounts’ and will replicate the physical account opening form for small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) on the tablet, reports Press Trust of India (PTI).

DBS Bank head of small and medium enterprise Amitabh Verma told PTI: "The initiative comes with in-built checks and balances that reviews the past data and ensures that the most frequent reasons for rejection are avoided, thus giving customers a smoother on-boarding experience.

"With this new product we hope to increase our SME customer base by 30-40 per cent in the current year."

According to the bank, its latest initiative will make the account opening process easy for the SME customers.

Under the new AweSME Accounts initiative, DBS bank is said to have waived off the average quarterly balance charges for accounts for the initial one year, to lure new customers.
