NatWest International Personal Banking’s (IPB) ibanking product allows customers to access their account from anywhere in the world using a unique customer number, PIN and password. According to NatWest IPB, surveyed customers rate ibanking as ‘the most secure’ system ‘more secure than traditional methods’.

Julian Gouge, head of NatWest IPB, commented: We recognize that online security is a key concern in today’s society and the ibanking system gives customers the reassurance they need when making transactions and controlling their finances. Whether you are enjoying yourself on holiday in Jamaica or working in Japan, ibanking allows you to make payments and manage your finances within seconds at any time of the day or night.

NatWest IPB said that users of the ibanking system will be able to view sterling and currency account balances and statement of accounts; transfer funds between NatWest accounts on any date up to 28 days in the future, and see what payments have been made into and out of an account.

NatWest IPB added that when customers wish to undertake payments to third parties or foreign exchange the ibanking plus product provides added security. The offering allows customers to confirm banking instructions using a smartcard and card reader, providing even tougher barriers to prevent online fraud. ibanking plus also has the benefit of reduced fees when making international or immediate payments.
