The team at the new office includes John Henderson, former head of Rathbones’ Edinburgh office and two former Brewin Dolphin investment directors – Norman Law and Meera Dennis.

Mr Henderson said: “We are excited to be bringing an on-the-ground presence to Aberdeen to serve both existing and, we hope, new clients. Norman Law and Meera Dennis will play an important role in growing our business and given that our offering to clients is based on providing an excellent level of service, we are also pleased to be adding Becky Murray and Suzi Hagan to the team to support us.”

Andy Pomfret, chief executive of Rathbone Brothers, said: “Our offices in Scotland account for more than 10% of the firm’s funds under management and they have grown rapidly in recent years, most recently with the business transferring under an agreement reached with Lloyds last year with regards to its former Bank of Scotland portfolio management clients.

“The rate at which these clients agreed to move to Rathbones and the goodwill we have encountered amongst them, only increases our belief that what we have to offer is very attractive to individuals. Our clients want their investments managed on a bespoke basis by professionals that they have a relationship with and confidence in.”
