The British bank said Wait will continue to be based in Singapore and report to Lenny Feder, group head of Financial Markets.

In his new capacity, he will lead the delivery of risk management, investment and financing solutions to corporate, government and financial institution clients across the bank’s footprint across Asia, Africa and the Middle East.

Wait, who has over 26 years of industry experience, joined the bank in 2008 and since then, has been instrumental in building the bank’s Capital Markets business.

He has also led the team’s successful management of the overall debt platform of loans, bonds, asset-backed securities and convertibles portfolios.

Wait has previously held senior global positions in Lehman Brothers including global head of Credit Sales based in New York, and the European and Asian head of Debt Capital Markets, based in London.

Feder said he is confident that with Christian’s depth of experience and strong sales background, he will effectively lead the bank’s Financial Markets sales teams to further deepen our client relationships and drive the execution of our client-focused strategy across our FX, Rates, Credit, Commodities and Equities businesses.
