To be launched in 31 European markets and nine South-East Asian markets from August 2013, the new mobile point-of-sale (mPOS) system will enable traders to execute transactions from a mobile handset instead of a conventional POS system.

The company has also inked an agreement with Hong Kong based payment processing company, ASAP Transaction Processing (ASAP TP), which in turn has partnered with banks and payment processors across Europe and Asia for payment acceptance.

The mPOS system uses a dongle and is compatible with an array of iOS and Android smartphones.

Optimizer CEO Manas Kumar said, "With a number of our customers [for Optimizer HQ’s cloud products] residing across these markets, it was a logical next step for us to deploy our technology there.

"Even though the Reader is not available in New Zealand yet, while we are waiting for local regulators to approve it, we felt it was important for Optimizer to continue its global expansion and ASAP TP was a great partner in helping us reach new markets", Kumar added.

Recently Optimizer HQ announced that it is planning to list the firm on the New Zealand Stock Exchange (NZX) and received a $4m funding for global development.
