Network International is a payment solutions provider, as well as promoter of Mercury domestic card network.

Additionally, the agreement will enable acceptance of Mercury Network Cards on Diners Club International and PULSE and other partner networks for purchases and cash access outside UAE, including in over 185 nations and regions.

The agreement with Discover will further boost Network International footprint, while enabling it to support credit and debit cards on a global basis.

In a bid to ensure safe transactions across both networks, both companies have also agreed to co-operate on the integration of Discover D-PAS EMV solutions and fraud monitoring technologies.

Discover Payment Services EVP and president Diane Offereins said that the partnership will support and encourage domestic payment networks around the world, using its assets to grow volume and increase brand awareness in places like the UAE.

"We’re also providing our partners with customized solutions to help them achieve global reach and address localized preferences," Offereins added.

Discover has set up network to network alliances in China, Japan, Korea, Serbia, India, Puerto Rico, Nigeria and across Europe, which offer access to its global acceptance, footprint and deliver value and volume to merchants and partners.
