Based on the agreement, Doha Bank’s customers will be able to transfer money online from their account to their BPI account at any branch in the Philippines.
The customer can send payment to beneficiaries having accounts with any other bank in Philippines, and they can also collect cash from any branch of BPI in the country.
Doha Bank Group CEO Dr R Seetharaman said, "The tie-up with BPI will provide an opportunity to extend our services to Filipino community in Qatar by meeting their banking and remittance requirements."
BPI senior vice president Raul Dimayuga said the agreement with Doha Bank will enable it to provide cost effective services to Filipino nationals who live in Qatar, UAE and Kuwait.
"The arrangement will enable us to provide our customers convenient and secure services by expanding our remittance network from GCC Countries to Philippines," Dimayuga added.
BPI manages over a network of 750 branches. Doha Bank provides remittances services to Middle East countries such as Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Oman, Turkey, Yemen and other Asian countries such as Bangladesh, India, Indonesia, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka.
