The takeover of the new firm will leverage Mercury to provide mobile loyalty program integrated with payment processing, said the acquirer.
Mercury Payment chief executive officer Matt Taylor said that Sundrop’s forward-thinking loyalty product is seamlessly integrated to point-of-sale (POS) systems, making it a perfect match for Mercury.
"With this acquisition, Mercury will leverage our extensive developer channel presence to lead the way in integrated POS mobile and social marketing," Taylor added.
Upon completion of merger of Sundrop’s operations and technology, Mercury’s POS partner network will start providing their customers a mobile loyalty solution, which is also integrated with Mercury’s secure payment processing platform.
"Most importantly, this technology blend will help merchants increase profitability with a mobile loyalty program that makes it easy to engage and reward their best customers."
Sundrop Mobile chief executive officer will join as Mercury vice president of loyalty and will spearhead Mercury’s strategy and execution in this arena.
"Combining Sundrop’s technology with Mercury’s solid execution and strategic vision is an obvious next-step for us in bringing our services immediately to scale," Priest said.
