The equity team at SulAmerica Investimentos will now consist of two senior portfolio managers and a team with nine analysts.

SulAmerica said the new division will be in charge to build long term portfolios targeting substantial alpha returns, combining investments in high-growth companies with the team’s activist profile in corporate governance issues.

Fernando Tendolini has been hired by SulAmerica to lead the new dedicated team. He will join the team after 10 years as head of equity division and portfolio manager where he primarily headed up the funds known in Corporate Governance practices in invested companies.

SulAmerica Investimentos vice president Marcelo Mello said Brazil’s new economic environment with stability and drop in interest rates have turned investors’ focus towards products which seek differentiated returns and the creation of this new division is SulAmerica response to this growing demand, mainly oriented to institutional investors and pension funds.

"Building this new long term assets funds division will raise SulAmerica as one of the top independent equity and structured long term products manager in Brazil," Mello said.
