Arab International Bank (AIB) and Visa have launched Visa Classic and Gold credit cards in Euros in Egypt. They have launched the cards in response to a consumer survey conducted by AIB, which had showed market demand for them – reported Albawa.com

AIB has said that these cardit cards can be used for purchases and cash withdrawals domestically and internatioanlly, across the 30 million outlets and 1.4 million ATM’s worlwide. It has claimed that the cards are equipped with chip features of Visa that offer security and can be used even in distant locations where telecommunication facilities are expensive and unreliable.

Amr Abdelaal, GM of retail banking and network development at AIB, said: For our customers that frequently travel to Europe or often deal with Euros, the AIB Visa Classic and Gold credit cards are the most tailored solution available on the Egyptian market. It demonstrates the local need for credit cards in Euros proves that the country’s banking system is maturing and requires a larger portfolio of products, reported the newspaper.
