The bank said that it will hire additional 70 small business bankers through the remainder of the year across Southern California.

Los Angeles was among the first three markets to begin hiring, along with Dallas and the Baltimore-Washington, DC area.

The small business bankers will consult with small business owners at their place of business and assess their companies’ deposit, credit and cash management needs.

Bank of America has appointed Lynn Fernandez to manage Small Business Banker Program for the Los Angeles region.

In this newly created position, Fernandez will oversee the small business banker sales force across the region.

Fernandez said that small business owners want a relationship with someone who understands their specific banking needs and can provide them access to expertise that addresses their unique financial situation.

Fernandez has been with Bank of America for more than 30 years, most recently serving as the Southern California region executive. In that role, she led a team of 3,400 consumer retail associates in over 250 banking centers throughout eight Southern California markets.
