In this newly created position, Keeley will be responsible for overseeing the development of the relationships and the services BlackRock provides to official institutions around the world.

Keeley will also play a role in supporting the design and execution of the BlackRock Investment Institute.

Keeley will be based in New York City and report jointly to Robert Fairbairn, senior managing director and head of BlackRock’s Global Client Group; and Lee Kempler, managing director and the executive director of the Investment Institute.

Prior to joining BlackRock, Keeley was the founder and senior managing principal of Sovereign Trends, a New York based advisory firm.

From May 1988 until July 2010, he worked for UBS’ investment banking and asset management subsidiaries in a variety of managerial posts, operating out of London, New York and Chicago.

From 1994 until 2010, Keeley was a senior managing director at UBS with relationship oversight responsibilities for central bank and sovereign clients globally.

Fairbairn said they are delighted to be bringing an executive of Terry’s caliber to BlackRock. Terry’s depth of experience and deep understanding of sovereign markets significantly enhances the firm’s ability to offer official institutions customized investment solutions.
