The US bank said that almost ten of these hires are situated in the Seattle metro area, and these additions are part of the bank’s previously announced plan to hire nearly 1,000 small business bankers across the US.

Bank of America small business banker manager Roger Forman said that the small businesses are the primary driver of the Washington economy and hiring small business bankers will bring more expertise to business owners to remain focused on growth.

"In communities across Washington, Bank of America’s small business bankers will be meeting with clients on their turf to better understand their unique needs. By forging deeper relationships with clients, we’ll be able to help them meet their goals more efficiently, which in turn will help our entire state," Forman said.

The US Small Business Administration (SBA) revealed that there are 532,162 small businesses in Washington, which sums up more than 97% of all employers and employ over 50% of the private-sector workforce.

Clients will have expedient access to local small business expertise and a dedicated resource that knows their business through a small business banker relationship with Bank of America, the bank said.

BofA is steadily increasing its focus on the small businesses in the US, which is evident from its extended lending in 2012, in which it gave more than $106m to small businesses across the state, a 6% increase over the same period in 2011.

The bank serves more than 57 million consumer and small business relationships with approximately 5,700 retail banking offices and nearly 17,250 ATMs and online banking with 30 million active users.
