Canadian Western Trust, a wholly owned subsidiary of Canadian Western Bank, has opened a new office in Toronto to serve its clients in Ontario and Atlantic Canada.
According to the company, the new office premise, located at 130 King Street West, is shared with Canadian Western Trust’s (CWT) affiliate, Valiant Trust Company.
CWT has appointed Darcy Steep and Rick Wood as directors of business development in Ontario, for CWT’s individual retirement and investment services (IRIS) and corporate and group services (CGS) divisions, respectively.
Mr. Steep joins CWT’s IRIS division with over 10 years of financial services industry experience, most recently with a Canadian wealth management company.
Mr. Wood joins CWT’s CGS division from the private client services segment of the industry and has worked with two trust companies in Canada. He has over 15 years of experience in creating and managing client relationships.
Scott Scobie, general manager of CWT, said: Many of CWT’s clients are small to medium-sized business owners and independent financial advisors, a segment of the market that we feel is underserved by Canada’s larger trust companies. With the opening of this Toronto office, we are further enhancing our commitment to provide clients with superior service, as well as a more creative, solution oriented and forward-thinking approach of doing business. Darcy and Rick complete a dynamic client servicing team for CWT in this region.
