Based in London, Hawkins will be responsible for further developing the bank’s commodities business globally.
He will report to Gael de Boissard and Tony Ehinger, co-heads of global securities.
Hawkins will join Credit Suisse from Litasco, the Geneva-based marketing and trading company for Russian oil company, Lukoil.
He spent a total of nine years working for the Litasco in a range of roles based in Geneva and New York, most recently as head of trading and supply, specializing in crude oil, refined petroleum, freight and derivative instruments.
Prior to Litasco, he was a trader of energy products in several companies based in the US and Singapore.
De Boissard said Paul brings unique expertise and a deep pool of experience in the Commodities markets which the bank look forward to sharing with its clients.
