Before joining Equity Concepts, Hopper served as the market executive and senior vice president of private client services for First Tennessee Bank. In this role he worked with qualified high-net worth clients and families in the areas of financial planning, private bank lending, investment management, and insurance services. Before that, Hopper worked as a vice president of banking and wealth management at the U.S. Trust Company and Wells Fargo.

Hopper is heavily involved in the Richmond community and is an active alumnus of Hampden-Sydney College. He is the current president of the National Alumni Association for Hampden-Sydney and a past president of the Hampden-Sydney Club of Richmond.
