NYSE Arca, a wholly-owned subsidiary of NYSE Euronext (NYX), has begun trading the ETFS Silver Trust (ETFS ST) under the ticker symbol – SIVR. The ETF is sponsored by ETF Securities. It has been reported that the ETFS ST ETF is the first product by ETF Securities to list in the US on NYSE Arca.
The ETFS ST will issue ETFS silver shares which the Trust states represent units of fractional undivided beneficial interest in and ownership of the Trust. Each outstanding share will represent a fractional, undivided interest in the silver held by the Trust. The value of the shares relates directly to the value of the silver held by the Trust.
