First Data and Deutsche Bank PBC have extended their card issuing and processing agreement for an additional three years. The agreement between First Data and Deutsche Bank’s Polish operations started with the launch of the bank’s MasterCard branded card portfolio in Poland a year ago.
Under the terms of the new agreement, First Data will continue to provide a full range of card processing services to Deutsche Bank in Poland, including transaction authorization, fraud monitoring and customer service. First Data will support the launch of the bank’s Visa branded payment card portfolio by providing card issuing and processing for chip-based cards.
Additionally, First Data will deliver a variety of services that encompass the full life cycle of Deutsche Bank’s new Visa card portfolio, including providing transaction processing, portfolio management, generating secure data for personalization, managing cryptographic keys and card profiles.
Grzegorz Gorski, executive board member at Deutsche Bank, said: “Our cooperation with First Data has gone very well and for this reason we have decided to expand our relationship and entrust First Data with our next project: issuing and management of our Visa card portfolio. Selecting First Data to implement this project enables us to build on our current relationship and to capitalize on the opportunities ahead.”
Grzegorz Dlugosz, director of issuing for operations in Poland at First Data, said: “Deutsche Bank is a respected banking sector client, and we are delighted that the bank has chosen us to support the rollout of its Visa-branded cards. Our ongoing relationship contributes not only to the expansion of the bank’s portfolio, but also to the modernization of its transaction systems, enhancing the quality of services delivered to customers.”
