GlobalCollect has joined the PCI Security Standards Council as a new participating organization. GlobalCollect will work with the council to evolve the PCI data security standard (PCI DSS) and other payment card data protection standards. It will have access to the latest payment card security standards from the council and will be able to provide feedback on the standards.
PCI DSS, endorsed by American Express, Discover Financial Services, JCB International, MasterCard Worldwide and Visa, requires merchants and service providers that store, process or transmit customer payment card data to adhere to information security controls and processes that ensure data integrity.
Bob Russo, GM of PCI Security Standards Council, said: “The PCI Security Standards Council is committed to helping everyone involved in the payment chain protect consumer payment data. By participating in the standards setting process, GlobalCollect demonstrates they are playing an active part in this important end goal.”
Jan Manten, CEO of GlobalCollect, said: “We are very pleased to have joined the PCI Security Standards Council as a participating organization. This membership underscores GlobalCollect’s steadfast commitment to employ a broad range of fraud screening measures and lets us play a direct role in the ongoing development of PCI standards.”
