According to the Henderson, the newly launched fund seeks long-term capital growth and invests at least 80% of its net assets in the equity securities of companies whose principal business activities are located in emerging market countries. And investment performance will be derived primarily from stock selection.

In addition to the Emerging Markets Fund, Henderson also debuted A and C retail share classes for the Henderson International All Cap Equity Fund.

The Henderson Global Funds family also includes eight other mutual funds: European Focus Fund, Global Equity Income Fund, Global Opportunities Fund, Global Technology Fund, International Opportunities Fund, Japan-Asia Focus Fund, Money Market Fund, and Worldwide Income Fund. The company also runs several separately managed accounts products.

Henderson director of US Retail Distribution Chuck Thompson said the launch of the Henderson Emerging Markets Opportunities Fund is particularly exciting for the company as a firm.

"We believe we can provide a truly differentiated offering for clients to participate in the rise of the developing world and the long-term growth that we believe nearly 900 million new consumers will drive over the next decade," Thompson said.
