HSBC Bank USA has opened a new full-service retail branch in Chinatown, San Francisco. The addition of new office brings its branch network to a total of 35 branches in California.
Initially it will operate with a staff of seven locally employed banking professionals and provide a full range of financial services to both businesses and individuals.
Janet Chen, branch manager, is a career banker with 13 years professional experience in and around the San Francisco area. She and her team serve customers in three dialects of Chinese (Mandarin, Cantonese and Tai Shanese) as well as English.
Paul Lawrence, CEO of HSBC Bank USA, said: “HSBC has an extremely long history in Chinatown dating back over 140 years and its strong international connections made it the obvious place in which to enhance our San Francisco branch network. As ‘The world’s local bank’, we fully understand the importance of serving the Chinatown community locally while helping them to make the most of opportunities globally.”
