Janus Henderson is developing a set of AI-based systems for use in investment work and client servicing, with infrastructure being built by Percepta and Anthropic’s Claude used as the model layer.
The company manages close to half a trillion dollars in assets for 75 million clients globally.
Its stated approach is to use AI in support of human work across investment and service functions.
The plan has two strands, with the first involving new tools for investment and client teams.
PRISM is being developed as a client intelligence and engagement system for distribution teams.
Using Claude, it is intended to help staff decide where to focus outreach, use internal and external data to review client holdings and requirements, and draft tailored client communications.
Janus Henderson said the system is meant to provide one common tool for sales and marketing teams in different regions.
LIBROS is being built as a research management system for investment teams. Also based on Claude, it brings together internal research, outside research and public market data.
The firm said the tool is designed to help analysts and portfolio managers identify relevant information more quickly and spend more time on judgement and investment decisions.
The second strand is a wider rollout of Claude across the business.
Janus Henderson said this includes Claude Code for engineering teams and Cowork for employees in investment, distribution and corporate roles.
PRISM and LIBROS are being developed with Janus Henderson’s technology teams and Percepta.
At Janus Henderson, Percepta’s teams are working with the firm’s investment, distribution and technology staff to build the two systems on Claude and to put in place the data and knowledge base linking the model to Janus Henderson’s proprietary research, client and market data.
Janus Henderson CEO Ali Dibadj said: “We believe AI Transformation will fundamentally change the way asset managers serve their clients when it is embedded at the core of the business.
“This collaboration with Anthropic and Percepta builds on Janus Henderson’s partnership with Trian and General Catalyst, adds to our innovative leadership in AI and tokenisation, and supports our ambition to be the most technologically sophisticated asset manager in the world. We believe it will enhance how we deliver for our clients—the 75 million people* worldwide who rely on us to build a brighter future together.”
