According to the UK bank, Cathy will oversee various group-wide functions such as legal and corporate secretariat, human resources, audit and corporate brand and also spearhead several strategic projects including the group’s organization design and quality, and report to Antonio Horta-Osorio, group chief executive.
Antonio Horta-Osorio said Cathy brings extensive banking experience and leadership from her time with Barclays and in consultancy.
"Her appointment will further strengthen the senior team and will ensure that the bank is well placed to meet the needs of customers and colleagues in a rapidly-changing environment," Antonio added.
Cathy Turner will join the bank on 1 June 2012 and also serve as a member of the group’s executive committee, said the bank.
Before accepting the current role at Lloyds, Cathy had worked on senior positions at Barclays and was a member of its group executive committee with accountability for human resources, corporate affairs, strategy and brand.
