Mashreq Qatar country head Howard Kitson said they recognize the importance of providing an online banking service that is absolutely secure and safe and they have added state of art security features. Their new online banking also offers an improved and easier to use interface.
Mashreq also re-launched its free remittance campaign to enable customers to transfer funds with no charges.
A key security feature is the introduction of a one-time password for third party payments.
According to Mashreq, a new beneficiary can now be registered only after entering a one-time password which is sent directly to the customer’s mobile number registered with the bank.
This added security measure will ensure that money transfers only happen to beneficiaries that have been specifically confirmed by the customer.
This enhancement is in addition to the existing Transfer Challenger Code (TCC), which is a special code couriered to the customer at the address they specified at the time of opening the account.
"Electronic channels provide 24/7 global accessibility and save customers the hassle of visiting the branch and standing in lines. We encourage our customers to use these fully functional banking channels to check their balances, pay their bills, request cheque books, obtain bank statements, transfer funds around the world for free anywhere, anytime," Kitson added.
