Nomura has appointed Michael Hagmann as MD to head Capital Goods, Aerospace and Defence equity research for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA). He will be joining the firm in January 2010. Mr Hagmann has over 15 years of experience in capital goods research. He now returns to the sell-side after leaving UBS in 2007 when he became a partner in the industrials boutique, H2W.
Paul Norris, head of European equity research at Nomura, said: “Mr Hagmann is the latest in a long line of high profile Nomura research hires. We have hired new team heads this year in capital goods, oils, pharma, business services, leisure and transport with the explicit target of becoming a top-three house for European research in the near future. We continue to look for star hires and will add further strength and depth to our research teams next year.”
Nomura’s research product for Europe, Middle East and Africa was launched in October 2008, incorporating a coverage of all major industry sectors.
