As part of this effort, Pimco has formed a licensed broker-dealer called Pimco Investments.

Pimco chief operating officer Douglas Hodge said by establishing a fully integrated distribution platform, Pimco intend to provide greater access to its global investment solutions, intellectual capital and investment analysis, which are the core of firms’ approach to delivering consistent risk adjusted returns to Pimco’s clients.

Pimco Investments chairman, managing director and head of global wealth management business Jon Short said that Pimco’s global wealth management organization now has more than 200 professionals who are fully dedicated to serving financial advisors and their clients.

"We have significantly expanded our focus on the retail segment through this effort and will enhance our partnership with advisors through our dedicated focus on providing superior client service, knowledge sharing and investment performance," Short said.

Pimco is owned by Allianz Global Investors, a subsidiary of the Munich-based Allianz Group, a diversified financial services provider.
