The alliance will enable them to continue offering high-quality client service to their existing institutional client base and benefit from GreensLedge’s relationships for new business development efforts in Japan, according to the firms.

GreensLedge Asia co-founder and managing director Iku Nishino said, "As institutional investor interest in alternative investments accelerates in Japan, this partnership will assist Ramius in meeting Japanese client demands in both product and service."

Formed in September 2010, GreensLedge aims to offer advisory and institutional services to the Asian markets with an initial focus on Japan.

Established in 1994, Ramius and affiliates oversee $11.5bn across multiple asset classes and investing styles, as of 1 July 2012.
