Sanctum Wealth has appointed Ravi Malani to lead its Portfolio Management Services, as the India-based wealth manager seeks to build out its PMS business. 

Malani will be based in Mumbai, reporting to Roopali Prabhu, and will also take a seat on the company’s investment committee. 

In the new role, he will be in charge of PMS strategies such as Indian Olympians, Indian titans, tailored discretionary portfolio management services and non-discretionary portfolio management services. 

He brings more than 33 years of experience in investment management, having worked across PMS, direct equities, equity mutual funds and long/short funds. 

Malani began his career in 1993 at Anagram Securities as senior account manager for institutional equities. He later moved to BOB Asset Management Company and then joined Hsbc Investdirect (Subsidiary Of Il & Fs Investsmart Limited) as vice president for institutional equity sales. 

He went on to spend six years at Kotak Securities as senior vice president and head of NDPMS. After that, he served for nearly a year at Deutsche Bank as head of equities. 

His later roles included seven years at Barclays private bank, two years at BNP Paribas wealth management and four years at Credit Suisse as director for equities. 

Before joining Sanctum Wealth, he was equities head at Klay. 

At Sanctum, his responsibilities include overseeing and expanding the PMS platform, alongside serving on the Sanctum Investment Committee.
