The newly-merged fund will be managed by Martin Skanberg and Rory Bateman who were the original managers of Schroder Institutional European Fund.
Skanberg and Bateman will be supported by the firm’s European Equity team.
Skanberg joined Schroders in 2004 and also manages the Schroder ISF EURO Equity. Bateman joined Schroders in 2008 and is head of the European Equity Team. He also manages the Schroder ISF European Large Cap and Schroder ISF European Equity Focus.
Skanberg said merging these two funds means that UK retail investors can now access the highly successful team based approach used in the management of a number of their institutional portfolios, which have consistently delivered outperformance through different market environments.
Schroders managing director of UK Intermediary Robin Stoakley said Schroders has a very strong record in European Equity fund management in terms of both generating performance for their customers and new business growth. There is a great depth of talent and experience within the team and he is very pleased that Martin and Rory will be running the newly merged fund.
The European Equity team at Schroders consists of 17 fund managers and analysts, and has £6.9bn under management as at 31 December 2010.
