The securities regulator will impose a fine on Nomura, if the broker firm was found guilty into suspicious trading that occurred between 2009 and 2010.

Commenting on the ongoing probe by the securities watchdog, the bank said that it is fully co-operating with [the] SESC concerning the investigation.

The SESC began the probe after several complaints were reported that inside information has been regularly leaked ahead of new share issues.

Nomura did not admit any wrongdoing but said that it will co-operate with the investigation.

Sumitomo Mitsui Trust was formed through the merger of Chuo Mitsui Trust Group and the Sumitomo Trust and Banking Group.

The firm confirmed that the latest investigation was different from the previous SESC investigation involving Inpex’s new share issue.
