Through this merger with North Atlanta National Bank (NANB), Shinhan Bank America (SHBA) is able to expand its network in the Atlanta region; more specifically, the Korean community.
James Walker, president and CEO of NANB will continue to work as the president of North Atlanta Bank, a division of SHBA. Therefore, SHBA anticipates little inconvenience for the NANB customers.
Jeffrey Lee, president and CEO of SHBA, commented: This is the first time a Korean bank has tried to penetrate into the mainstream market through a US bank, fully immersing itself to become a truly localized bank in the US.
