According to the US lender, it has designed and developed the card as a payment alternative to a traditional checking account.

The newly debuted Synovus Connections Card performs similar to other check cards, but it does not require any checking account or credit cheque.

The card assist the users to get cash at the ATM, carry out purchases wherever Visa debit cards are accepted, get cash back at point of sale, and make purchases online or over the phone.

The card can be reloaded with no fee at any Synovus Bank division branch with cash and through direct deposit, the lender said.

Synovus Bank chief banking officer Dallis Copeland Jr said the bank was pleased to bring the new payment option to its customers because it gives them a prepaid card they can be used for a wide variety of purposes.

Along with its affiliates, Synovus Bankoffers commercial and retail banking, investment, and mortgage services to customers through 30 locally branded divisions, 293 offices, and 417 ATMs in Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina, Florida, and Tennessee.
