Kieran McSweeney, Marc Sefton and Michael Katramados have joined the bank from Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS), to set up the new banking division.

At RBS, Sefton and McSweeney were working as joint directors of structured finance, while Katramados was acting as an associate director.

The bank already provides block finance facilities to small and mid-size finance companies and the new division will further enhance its offer in the market, providing the highly sophisticated modeling needed to fund more complex assets.

The wholesale lending division will offer a fast and flexible service, with decision making by specialist teams that have a deep understanding of the markets in which they operate.

Shawbrook Bank CEO Ian Henderson said, "The wholesale market is currently underserved in the UK, and Shawbrook’s point of difference will focus on speed, efficiency and expertise."

Founded in 2011 with the merger of Whiteaway Laidlaw Bank (WLB), the lending platform of Commercial First, and Link Loans, Shawbrook Bank offers loans secured on property, asset finance and savings products.
