Unum Group (Unum) has appointed Richard McKenney as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of the company, succeeding Robert Greving who is about to retire later this year.
Mr. McKenney joins Unum from Sun Life Financial, where he served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. He had previously served as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Genworth Financial, including a number of financial and operational roles at its predecessor, GE Financial Assurance Holdings.
Thomas Watjen, President and Chief Executive Officer, Unum, said: “Rick brings to Unum substantial financial and operational experience, and he has a proven track record of success as a senior financial officer and leader. As previously announced, Greving will remain with the company for the next several months to ensure a smooth transition.”
Mr. McKenney will report to Mr. Watjen and will be based in Chattanooga.
